If you are new to the Housatonic or are just looking to fine-tune your technique with some expert advice, Tightline Adventures offers guided day and half-day trips at reasonable rates. Whether you are staying at Breadloaf Mountain Lodge or are visiting the NW corner of Connecticut for just a day, Tightline Adventures is happy to arrange all of your fishing needs. Our guiding service is Orvis-endorsed leaving no doubt that our knowledgeable, seasoned guides are, simply put, the best. Operating out of the Housatonic Meadows Fly Shop (which is located at Breadloaf Mountain Lodge), Tightline Adventures is uniquely situated to offer clients a complete fishing experience while they visit the Litchfield hills.
The Housatonic River, with its over 20 tributaries and feeder streams, is the perfect place to find solitude, natural beauty and, of course, plenty of wild trout. Tightline Adventures (along with the Housatonic Meadows Fly Shop) is the best team to help you make the most of your time on the river. Our guides are able to offer local insight as you explore the many riffles, runs, pools and pockets which are home to a wide variety of stream-bred trout. And with the extensive collection of hand-tied flies available at the Housatonic Meadows Fly Shop, you are certain to be properly equipped with all the right flies for that particular day.

PLEASE READ: CANCELLATION POLICY
We require a $100 deposit in order to confirm
and hold your reservation. The balance is to be paid upon
arrival at H.M.F.S. This deposit is non refundable, and there
will be no exceptions. If you reserve a trip with us and prior
to the reserved date, cancel, for any reason, you forfiet
your deposit. We RESERVE the right to cancel
your trip for Safety Reasons, as they may develop, i.e. (high water or inclement weather). We will allow you under
said circumstances to re-schedule your trip for up to 12 months
from the original date reserved.
CFS: What this means to me
CFS is cubic feet per second. This is the measurement system used to determine the river flows. These flows are gauged at the Falls Village Hydro-Electric Station. They maintain ph 888-417-4837 which provides a daily update at 7am regarding specific flows for the day and the river temperature.
