Imagine a morning of fly fishing on the renowned Housatonic River topped off by an afternoon of skeet or trap at the Orvis Sandanona shooting grounds! Only a short drive from our lodge is the famous Sadanona Shooting Club in Millbrook, NY. The club has been returned to it's former status as one of the premier shooting grounds in the country as part of the Orvis Company, the venerable outfitter that has been catering to sportsmen for well over 100 years. The renowned shooting preserve is the oldest permitted shooting club in the United States and has a long and rich history in the shooting circles. Sandanona will now be used as a venue for the Orvis Shooting Schools, as well as offering one of the finest sporting clay courses in the world to Orvis customers. Typical Cast and Blast Day

7am-11am Fly Fishing for Browns and Rainbows
11am-12pm Lunch
12:30pm - 4:30pm Sandanona Shooting Grounds
5pm - Return to Housatonic Meadows Lodge for shower, cocktail and dinner. For you diehard fishermen, fish our home pools Monument and Birches for the evening dry fly activity.

Typical Cast and Blast Weekend

Friday
3pm-5pm - Arrive at Houstonic Meadows Lodge for check-in
5:30pm-7pm - Dinner
7pm 'till dark - Evening fishing

Saturday
7am - Continental Breakfast
8am - 4pm - Full day fly fishing, lunch included
4pm - Shower, cocktails, dinner
Evening fishing for the die hard fishermen

Sunday Morning
7am - Continental Breakfast
8am - Sandanona Shooting Grounds for a 1/2 day or full day of shooting. Depart from Sandanona for home.
